Coastal communities in Ada now have a new platform to discuss the pollution affecting their shoreline. On 5 September 2026, the first episode of Waves of Change aired on Radio Ada, opening a series of community-focused sessions dedicated to the environmental challenges facing the area's coastline.

This first episode put citizen science at the center of the discussion, framed around two guiding questions: who is polluting, and what is polluting? The conversation also highlighted the direct role local residents can play in gathering evidence on marine litter, helping to piece together a clearer picture of the pollution reaching Ada's beaches. 

As the opening installment of an ongoing series, the session created a space for residents to engage directly with the issues shaping their coastline and to start building momentum for continued dialogue on coastal protection and collective action.
