PROTEGO Waste Sampling in Ajegunle, Lagos State
On March 20–21, 2025, the PROTEGO team carried out a two-day waste sampling campaign in Ajegunle, Lagos, targeting pollution hotspots along the Apapa and Tolu canals. This effort involved the systematic collection and characterization of waste materials to identify predominant waste types and patterns.
With strong support from Circularity Africa Limited, Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), and Ajeromi Ifelodun L.G.A, the initiative emphasized the importance of localized data in designing targeted and effective waste reduction strategies. These insights will guide future interventions aimed at curbing plastic pollution and improving the urban waste landscape in Lagos.
